About The Role

Sunset Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value experienced technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities include

  • Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
  • Assisting in surgery
  • Maintaining accurate, detailed medical records and treatment documentation
  • Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
  • Identifying patient concerns and supporting efficient case management across the hospital
  • Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

Schedule and compensation

  • Compensation: $20-24 per hour, for each hour worked
  • This is a Flexible full-time schedule with availability Monday–Saturday. Three 10-hour shifts, one 5-hour shift, with required rotating Saturday 4-hour shifts.

Minimum qualifications and skill set

2+ years of veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience

Proficiency in the following skills

  • Patient assessment, nursing care, monitoring, and inpatient care
  • Surgical setup and assistance, aseptic technique, and safe patient restraint
  • Venipuncture, phlebotomy, SQ injections, medication administration, and laboratory sample collection
  • Radiology positioning, safety, and accurate medical record documentation
  • Strong client communication, teamwork, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinking, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning.
