About The Role
Payson Family Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team at a 10-doctor, AAHA-accredited hospital serving dogs, cats, reptiles, and exotic pets. Our diverse caseload ranges from preventive and wellness care to urgent and emergency services, advanced diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry, providing an excellent opportunity to expand your skills and gain experience across many areas of veterinary medicine.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Assistant who is ready to continue growing in a large, fast-paced hospital environment. You’ll work alongside an experienced team with opportunities to build your skills across patient care, client service, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures. In this position, you will take an active role in
- Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
- Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
- Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
- Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
Schedule and compensation
- Compensation: $16 - $21per hour, for each hour worked
- This is a full-time or part-time position, with a flexible schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday and rotating Saturdays.

Minimum qualifications and skill set
2+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred
Proficiency in the following skills
- Safe animal handling and restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
- Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
- Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
