About The RoleHello Patient is looking for our first Head of Strategic Finance to build the financial function as we scale. This is a high-impact role working directly with senior leadership, with visibility into the full business and the opportunity to shape how we plan, measure performance, and make <decisions.You>’ll own the core financial planning and reporting processes, build and maintain our financial model, support board and fundraising work, and partner closely with leaders across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Operations. Your work will help answer some of the most important questions facing the company: where we’re performing well, where we should invest, how we should plan for growth, and where we need to make tradeoffs.This is a hands-on role for someone who wants meaningful ownership. You won’t be stepping into an established FP&A organization - you’ll build the processes, models, and reporting that leadership will rely on, while also having the opportunity to shape the finance function as the company grows.Who You AreYou began your career in investment banking or private equity before moving into strategic finance at a high-growth company. You’re a hands-on builder who can own the details today - from financial models and month-end closes to customer contracts and board reporting - while building the finance and Revenue Operations functions we’ll need as Hello Patient grows.What You'll DoOwn Finance & ReportingBuild and maintain our long-term financial model across revenue, headcount, operating expenses, cash, and runwayOwn the monthly and quarterly budget vs. actuals process, analyze variances, and help leadership understand performance against planOwn financial and operating reporting for senior leadership and the board, including KPIs, financial performance, burn, runway, and key business trendsSupport fundraising processes through forecasts, financial analyses, diligence materials, data rooms, and investor requestsManage our external accountants and tax partners and own an accurate, timely month-end close.Partner on Business & StrategyWork closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Operations, and People on headcount planning, budgets, investments, and business <cases.Help> leaders understand the financial impact of their decisions and bring financial discipline to how we allocate resourcesDefine and improve the metrics we use to understand the business, including ARR, retention, gross margin, customer cohorts, and other SaaS and healthcare operating metricsBuild models and analyses to support decisions around pricing, new products, hiring, go-to-market investments, and other company initiativesServe as the point person for customer order forms and contracts, partnering with Sales, Account Management, and legal counsel on pricing, commercial terms, approvals, and <execution.Build> the Revenue Operations function and partner closely with Sales, Account Management, and Operations on forecasting, performance, and <growth.Work> directly with the CEO and board on reporting, planning, and strategic <decisions.Build> Finance & Revenue OperationsEstablish the processes, systems, and reporting infrastructure we need as the company growsIdentify opportunities to improve how we plan, measure, and communicate financial performanceBring structure and rigor to a function that is still being built, while keeping processes practical and lightweightOver time, help build out the finance team and expand the scope of the functionWhat We're Looking ForMust Have8+ years of experience, beginning in investment banking or private equity and followed by strategic finance or FP&A experience at a high-growth companyStrong financial modeling skills and the ability to build a model from scratchStrong analytical skills and attention to detailComfortable working with large amounts of data and turning it into clear insightsAbility to work independently and take ownership of projects from start to finishComfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where processes are still being builtStrong communication skills and the ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholdersPrevious strategic finance or FP&A experience at a startupExperience building financial processes from scratchPreferredExperience in healthcare, SaaS, or another high-growth technology companyFamiliarity with SaaS metrics and unit economicsExperience supporting a fundraising processExperience with tools such as QuickBooks, Ramp, Rippling, or similarCompensationBase salary: $175,000 - $200,000Equity: Meaningful ownership in a fast-growing healthtech startupAbout Hello PatientHello Patient is transforming healthcare communication through advanced conversational AI.
