Senior Software Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

A seed-stage SaaS company serving hardware engineers in complex, regulated industries — including aerospace and defense — is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own core systems in an AI-assisted cloud platform. This is a high-ownership, product-focused role at a small, early team where your architectural decisions will directly shape the product's technical foundation. You'll work across high-performance diagramming, real-time collaboration, and physics-based simulation in an environment that moves fast and builds for demanding customers.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Architect application infrastructure spanning the cloud ecosystem, AI copilot, and physics simulation backend.
• Lead development of major features end to end — from architecture and implementation through deployment and sustainment.
• Collaborate closely with the product team to identify and deliver capabilities that customers need.
• Define and champion technical standards and long-term system architecture as the product and team scale.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer with demonstrated ownership of production systems or large-scale features.
• Deep expertise in at least one layer of the stack — such as frontend frameworks, real-time collaboration, or AI/ML systems.
• Proficiency with modern tooling: React, TypeScript, and Python.
• Strong product intuition and proven ability to collaborate across disciplines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with physics-based modeling and simulation systems.
• Ability and willingness to work on-site in New York, NY (this is not a remote role).
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to Have

• Background in hardware engineering tooling, CAD systems, or regulated industries (e.g., aerospace, defense).
• Experience building or contributing to real-time collaborative applications.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure design and deployment at scale.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Salary: $120,000 – $170,000 per year, depending on experience.
• Early-stage equity opportunity.

• On-site: New York, NY — in-person presence is required.
• Remote work is not available for this position.
