Our Product & Engineering Team
Liberis is building the embedded finance platform that lets partners around the world offer innovative funding products to their small business customers. We're a growth-stage fintech with teams in London, Nottingham, Atlanta, Stockholm, Munich and Mumbai, and weâre building a global Product, Data & Engineering team that thrives on autonomy, ownership, and is focused on impact! Our teams solve real-world problems for small businesses, shaping products that unlock opportunity at scale.
Engineering is going through an AI-first transformation, rethinking how teams are structured and how they ship. It's changing what a small team can do! We empower our teams to make decisions, move fast, and take full responsibility for the solutions they deliver. Youâll join a team where curiosity is encouraged and collaboration across Product, Data, Delivery and Engineering is the norm.
The team
Youâll join Liberisâ Product Design team, working alongside product managers, engineers, and researchers across the business to help shape exceptional financial experiences to support small business!
The role
Weâre looking for a Product Designer to help evolve the internal systems our teams rely on and the service journeys that connect them to our merchants and partners. Youâll take ownership of design problems from discovery through to shipped, polished interfaces, partnering closely with product managers and engineers along the way!
This is a hands-on role focused primarily on design delivery within our fulfilment area. Youâll work on complex workflows and internal systems used by teams including Operations, Underwriting and Collections, turning an established product vision into well-considered features that can be shipped in manageable increments. Success in this role looks like well-crafted, research informed interfaces that ship on time!
Youâll join a collaborative environment with engaged users and a strong front-end engineering team. Because the people using your work are close to the product team, youâll have regular opportunities to understand their needs, test ideas and see the immediate impact of what you deliver.
What youâll get to do in the role
At Liberis, our internal systems are at the core of how we support small businesses. In this role, you'll design and ship the interfaces our operational teams rely on every day, turning complex workflows into clear, usable tools.
You'll partner closely with your Product Manager and Engineering Manager throughout the product lifecycle, from discovery and early concepts through to delivery and post-launch iteration, shaping decisions together rather than handing off a finished design.
You'll build and iterate on high-fidelity UI in Figma, taking designs from early wireframes through to pixel-perfect, developer-ready screens, and take ownership of our design system, keeping components and patterns consistent across the product.
You'll work directly with the operational teams who use these systems day to day, running interviews and usability testing to understand where the friction is, and mapping their end-to-end journeys to find where processes break down and spot opportunities to fix them.
What we think youâll need
Youâre comfortable facilitating UX research and communicating findings clearly to validate your decisions for new product features.
You think strategically about the long-term implications of design decisions and are used to planning well beyond the feature immediately required to ensure products continue to evolve with clear direction.
Strong Figma experience is essential for this role, including knowledge of component best practice, auto layout and variant management. Experience using developer handover features would also be highly beneficial.
Your design process is highly collaborative; you iterate openly and validate quickly with feedback from stakeholders and design peers before aligning on a path forward.
You are comfortable working alongside engineers to turn designs into shipped product features, with an awareness of feasibility and technical dependencies. You judge your work by whatâs shipped, not whatâs in your design file.
Ability to prototype at pace with a high level of interactivity and attention to detail to bring designs to life for stakeholders and users.
Experience running usability testing and validating that products meet user expectations and adhere to WCAG accessibility standards.
Knowledge of service design strategies including service blueprints, user journey maps and identifying opportunities across multi-channel processes.
Next steps If this opportunity feels like the right fit for your next career move, weâd love to hear from you!
