About The Role

Financial Analysis, Planning & Reporting and Internal Controls

Reporting Structure: Reports to Director of Financial Planning & Analysis

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Analysis, Planning & Reporting

Balance sheet - cash accounts reporting and analyses

Review month - end reports – for accuracy & completeness

Prepare and review month - end and year-end entries & closing

Debt Instruments - commitment fees on credit facilities & letter of credit payments

Liaise with banks with regards to the firm's banking operations and optimize interest earned on the firm’s excess cash

Monitor bank accounts: third party activities in multi-currency accounts & wire receipts reconciliations (from bank to book)

Organize financial month-end meetings and compile scrub package

Lead and coordinate the firm’s financial audit: serve as point-of-contact for auditors & monitor and handle all requests in designated portal for planning, interim, and year-end audits

Review & prepare general journal entries

Update monthly Firm statistics

Coordinate with Paris office on transferring funds to NY while keeping enough funds in Paris to cover operational expenses

GL accounts analyses and reconciliations

Prepare expense allocation schedule quarterly for professional liability insurance, employee pension expenses

Review trial balance reports to ensure net balance to zero

Ad hoc & special projects as requested by senior management

Prepare and distribute monthly reports to senior management, and managers

Prepare annual expense budget: work with department heads and other offices to finalize individual budgets & review and adjust with CFO and COO prior to presenting to partnership

Rent and subleases: enter monthly rent invoices for payment, review for accuracy & prepare monthly sublease invoices for firm’s subtenants and confirm receipt of payment

Iridium – work with third-party reporting group to implement fields and calculations to Excel cubes and BI reports as needed

Contribute to firm’s insurance renewals – provide requested financial data and coordinate payment of certain insurance invoices

Quarterly and annual bank, government, and law publication surveys

Reviewing appropriateness of AP expense/banking details for payment

<SAM.gov> registration and LEI renewals

Internal Controls

  • Review and approve bank reconciliations for all offices, including outstanding checks and cleared checks
  • Oversee escrow transactions, monthly reconciliations and adjustments
  • Review bank statement to cash report

Position Specific Skills and Requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills required
  • Excel proficiency (pivot tables, formulas, macros) required
  • Business Intelligence knowledge required
  • Financial Modeling experience required
  • Elite 3E Accounting Software knowledge desirable
  • AI knowledge (Co-Pilot, August) desirable
  • SQL proficiency desirable

Education and General Requirements

BA or BS in Finance or related field, required; advanced degree and/or professional designation desirable.

5-7 years of progressive experience.

General knowledge of Modified Cash Basis.

Strong analytic skills.

Detail-oriented and a self-starter; strong organizational skills and ability to problem solve.

Strong work ethic and ability to work as a team player.

Ability to collect and summarize data to prepare clear and concise reports.

Strong oral and written communications skills.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties.

Hybrid schedule (minimum of 3 days per week in-person in the NY Office).

Target salary range: $120,000-$150,000.
