About The Role

About Brick...

Brick is transforming how people interact with technology—helping people minimize distractions, reclaim focus, and live more intentionally. Our physical device and companion app turn smartphones from sources of distraction into tools for presence and productivity.

We’re on a mission to help people take back control of their time and attention so they can focus on what matters most—and we’re building a team of thoughtful, driven people to make that happen.Job Summary / About the Role:

We're looking for a Hardware Design Manager to lead the launch of our next wave of hardware — from hero products that define the Brick experience to the accessories, color drops, and gift sets that turn one-time buyers into repeat customers. This is a builder's role: you'll take products from the first concept sketch all the way to the factory floor, owning vendor relationships, sample timelines, and margin tradeoffs along the way. You'll partner directly with design, supply chain, and marketing — and report to our Sr. Director of Hardware and Supply Chain — in a role built for someone who wants real ownership and wants to see their work in customers' hands.

Location

In-person, 4-5 days a week in Chicago office (River North Neighborhood)

What You’ll Do

  • Drive end-to-end launches for physical products, from concept to shelf
  • Lead the design process — specs, colorways, materials, and packaging, start to finish
  • Build and manage vendor relationships, negotiating timelines and terms that keep projects on track
  • Coordinate sample cycles and manage revisions until designs are launch-ready
  • Own cost and margin tradeoffs with direct P&L impact — you'll know exactly how each decision affects the bottom line
  • Build and run the cross-functional launch calendar that keeps design, supply chain, and marketing moving in step
  • Spot risks in timelines or vendor delivery early, and drive contingency plans before they become problems
  • Partner with marketing to make sure launches land with the right story and the right timing

What You’ll Need to Have

Required

  • 3+ years in project or product management
  • Track record juggling multiple projects and vendors at once, without dropping a ball
  • Sharp organizational instincts and a bias for hitting timelines
  • A communicator who can rally design, ops, and marketing around a decision and keep things moving
  • Comfort owning tradeoffs where cost, design, and timeline pull in different directions

Preferred

Background in DTC, startups, or physical product launches

Comfort working with overseas supply chains

An eye for design — you can critique a concept, render, or sample and know what's working

Hands-on design chops (CAD, iterating on renders between design cycles)

The base salary range for this role is $140,000–$170,000, depending on experience and qualifications. What we care aboutWe’re building a team of people who take ownership, move with focus, and care deeply about the quality and impact of their work. We hold a high bar, prioritize what matters, and believe the best ideas come from thoughtful, driven individuals who are trusted to execute.

Compensation & benefitsWe offer competitive compensation, meaningful equity, and comprehensive benefits for you and your family. We also prioritize flexibility, time to recharge, and a culture that supports both high performance and sustainable work.

If you’re excited about our mission and this role, we’d love to hear from you.
