Position: PR Director (all genders) | Frankfurt, Dubai, Shanghai, Shenzhen (Remote) | Start: as soon as possible

As PR Director, you will shape how VAVE is seen, understood and talked about worldwide. You will own our brand communication across the group - from our studios in Germany and China to our projects in the Middle East - and translate the work of our design teams into stories that reach the right audiences at the right moment. You will be managing a team of 3+ members acrossing different timezones and cultures. Working closely with our management board, our BD team and the General Managers of our subsidiaries, you will be the key person who builds the voice, the network and the visibility that carry our ideas beyond the studio.

Responsibilities

• Strategic ownership: Proactively build, manage and execute VAVE’s brand communication strategy across the group and its subsidiaries, and ensure all communication activities stay aligned with VAVE’s strategic goals, business development strategy and cultural identity.
• Narrative and positioning: Communicate VAVE’s ideas, values and design approach to our target audiences - digitally, locally and internationally. Link our projects to relevant topics and place them within current discourses.
• Media relations: Expand and maintain our international network of media contacts, platforms, partners and representatives across our markets in Europe, China and the Middle East.
• PR Strategy: Design and develop PR strategies together with our management board and BD team that are build to better meet our strategic business goals.
• PR planning: Plan all PR activities strategically across channels, offices and markets, and develop and articulate PR strategies in a proactive and persuasive way across every touchpoint.
• Content creation: Supervise the content creation of the entire PR team, such as press releases, project descriptions and social media posts. Create guidelines and templates to visually and emotionally compell material that resonates with our audiences and stays true to our tone of voice.
• Channel management: Brief, guide and supervise team members on the content of our website, online portals and social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, WeChat, Xiaohongshu and others).
• Awards and submissions: Plan and organize submissions for internationally acclaimed design awards, and manage deadlines, materials and follow-up.
• Project documentation: Organize the documentation of our projects - photo shoots, video shoots and interviews - and brief and manage the photographers, filmmakers and writers involved.
• Representation: Represent VAVE online and offline at events, internally and externally, and act as a confident ambassador for the studio and its culture.
• Measurement and reporting: Continuously analyze, track, review and improve our workflow, output and impact, and report results and recommendations to the management board.
• Budget management: Track, review and control all PR expenditures to make sure budgets are spent effectively, efficiently and correctly.

Qualifications and Skills

• Technical Skills:- Outstanding writing, editing and storytelling skills in English, with the ability to adapt tone of voice across markets, formats and channels.

• A proven track record of placing stories in the design, architecture, or creative industry.
• Strong strategic thinking, leadership and cross-cultural communication skills.
• Hands-on experience managing social media across both Western and Chinese platforms.
• Proficiency in English is a must-have. Good knowledge of German and/or Chinese is strongly desired; Arabic is a plus.
• A confident editorial eye for imagery, layout and visual content, and the ability to brief creative teams accordingly.
