About the role This position is in Engineering Innovation & Integration – Automation Technology Team to develop new test rig, automate current processes to deliver more effective and efficient outcomes. In generally this position will involve in verification of Mechanical, Electronics and Performance of a product, enabling it by developing test systems solutions. Responsible for supporting the delivery of resolutions to problems using prescribed guidelines and procedures with a good knowledge of own discipline and/or supporting the execution of small to medium, low complex projects. As an intern, you’ll have the chance to specialise in either Mechanical or Electronics/Electrical and Software test development. You’ll support day-to-day engineering projects, contribute your ideas, and develop practical problem-solving skills. Our internship programme connects academic theory with practical experience. About you Responsibilities Mechanical Focus Assist with the design, CAD modeling, and development of test rigs and fixtures. Select and assemble mechanical parts (e.g., pneumatics, actuators, load cells, motors). Support installation and commissioning of test rigs in the lab or workshop. Maintain existing test rigs and help improve them for safety, efficiency, and reliability. Use basic mechanical engineering concepts (solid mechanics, heat, fluids) in hands-on projects. Apply mechanical safety guidelines in all work. Work with the team to deliver projects on schedule and report progress clearly. Electronics/Electrical and Software Focus Help design and implement automated test scripts or simple programs (Python, Arduino, LabVIEW, or similar). Assist with setting up and configuring instruments for data acquisition and control. Contribute to the development of software frameworks for test automation. Participate in debugging and troubleshooting test system software. Document code, test results, and procedures for clarity and repeatability. Collaborate with team members to improve existing software processes. Learn to interface and control test hardware through software. Shared Responsibilities Follow Dyson safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment. Participate in team meetings and support collective project goals. Communicate clearly with team members from different backgrounds and disciplines. Take initiative on assigned tasks and seek guidance when needed. Engage with wider project and R&D teams as required. What We’re Looking For Mechanical Focus: Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Mechanical / Mechatronic / Electromechanical / Robotics Engineering (or similar). Experience with CAD tools is preferred. Interest in hands-on building and testing. Awareness of basic safety practices. Electronics/Electrical and Software Focus: Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Mechatronics/ Electronics/ Electrical Engineering or related field. Some experience or coursework related to programming (e.g., Python, Arduino, LabVIEW, C/C++). Interest in automation, data collection, and test systems.
