About The Role

Project Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internetto customers and communities around the world. To support that mission, we are building enterprise platformsthat scale across manufacturing, supply chain, and business operations as the company expands across factories, product lines, and lines of business.Export Control: This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen to comply with U.S. government-imposed requirements related to the nature of the work and/or where it will be performed. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Business Process Excellence to serve as the connective tissue across AmazonLeo's manufacturing and finance enterprise application landscape. This role is accountable for end-to-end processarchitecture and Design Authority governance spanning the full digital thread, from product engineering throughmanufacturing execution, distribution, and financial close. This is not a functional workstream ownership role. Individual application domains (ERP, PLM, MES, SCP, WMS, andothers) are owned by their respective Enterprise Applications Functional Leaders. This role works collaborativelyacross those functional owners to ensure that processes connect seamlessly at organizational boundaries, thathandoffs are well-defined, and that the full value stream operates as a single integrated chain rather than acollection of isolated functional solutionKey job responsibilitiesThis role is accountable for:Design Authority governance: formal decision rights to approve or reject cross-functional solution designs beforeapplication engineering build begins, ensuring clean-core alignment, downstream impact awareness, and end-to-end coherenceEnd-to-end process architecture: defining target-state process models, integration specifications, cross-boundaryhandoffs, and acceptance criteria across the full digital threadCross-functional process standards: establishing how processes connect across organizational boundaries, such asengineering change flows from PLM through BOM through procurement through production through costsettlementProcess performance accountability: defining outcome metrics, measuring end-to-end cycle time, and diagnosingwhether breakdowns stem from process design gaps, system gaps, or governance gapsA day in the lifeProcess Architecture and Cross-Boundary DesignDefine the target-state process architecture for end-to-end value streams spanning: Design-to-Release, Simulate-to-Validate, Plan-to-Produce, Source-to-Pay, Manufacture-to-Deliver, Inventory-to-Distribute, Record-to-Report,Asset Lifecycle, and Service and <Returns.Map> current-state processes and identify fragmentation, manual workarounds, and cross-functional handofffailures between domains.Architect how processes connect at organizational boundaries, specifying where handoffs occur, who owns eachsegment, and how process performance is measured across the <chain.Design> cross-functional process standards that span multiple teams and systems, such as engineering change flowsfrom PLM through BOM through procurement through production through cost settlement.Solve for financial granularity of the cost of manufacturing for each product line, ensuring process design supportsaccurate cost capture <end-to-end.Design> Authority and GovernanceEstablish and lead the Design Authority forum: approve or reject cross-functional solution designs before build, based on clean-core alignment, business value, downstream impact, and validated adoption plans.Define process ownership, RACI matrices, and governance forums, ensuring each end-to-end process has a singleaccountable owner even when it crosses multiple teams and systems.Ensure process design decisions support ITGC, GRC, auditability, segregation of duties, and finance-safe operationalexecution.Lead process architecture reviews for major initiatives, ensuring new capabilities integrate with existing end-to-endflows rather than creating isolated point solutions.Collaborative Process Design with Functional OwnersPartner with ERP domain leaders and functional architects to ensure process designs are implementable withinsystem capabilities, advocating for process-led design rather than system-led design.Collaborate with manufacturing execution teams on the integration of MES processes with ERP processes, ensuringproduction order lifecycle, confirmations, goods movements, and quality results flow seamlessly between shopfloor and enterprise <systems.Work> with quality management functional owners to define process architecture spanning incoming inspection, in-process inspection, non-conformance management, supplier quality, and corrective action workflows.Partner with warehouse and fulfillment teams to architect goods receipt, put-away, kitting, storage, picking, andshipment processes across multiple storage locations and warehouse types.Collaborate on subcontracting and vendor-managed inventory process design, including component provision, consignment settlement, vendor reconciliation, and cycle counting.Scalability and rules, or robotic process <automation.Drive> standard-pattern-first design that maximizes adoption and minimizes technical debt.Publish process architecture standards, reference models, and reusable process templates that accelerate deliveryacross programs and teams.Organization and RoadmapBuild and lead the organization: PMTs, TPMs, site-embedded Support Engineers, and BIEs operating within a fusionteam model.Own the multi-year capability roadmap, implementation timelines, sprint prioritization, and release sequencingacross all workstreams.Establish process performance metrics and KPIs: end-to-end cycle time, first-pass yield, automation rate, processcompliance, and adoption rates.Communication and InfluenceCreate PRFAQs, functional design documents, process narratives, and acceptance criteria that define whatengineering builds.Mentor functional consultants and business analysts on process-first thinking, raising the quality of requirementsand solution design across the organization.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate brings deep experience designing cross-functional enterprise processes in manufacturing orsupply chain environments, with strong knowledge of how ERP systems (SAP or Oracle preferred) enable orconstrain process design. Strong candidates think in terms of end-to-end value streams rather than functionalmodules and demonstrate strong written communication skills with the ability to influence both operationalleaders and system architects toward process standards that hold at scale. This role leads through collaboration rather than command, earning trust across functional boundaries bydemonstrating how connected process design serves everyone's outcomes.Success MetricsPerformance in this role is measured on adoption rates, process efficiency, end-to-end cycle time, first-pass yield,clean-core compliance, capability delivery velocity, and stakeholder satisfaction with the Design Authority process.
