We are seeking a Senior Category Manager to lead the commercial delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-million-dollar Ops construction projects across one of our global regions.The Construction Category team owns the end-to-end sourcing strategy for general contractors, developers, and key trade packages. This role will work alongside a team of Construction Category Managers and partner closely with Pre-Construction, Design & Construction, Real Estate, and World Wide Design to develop and execute category sourcing strategies, maximize managed spend, deliver measurable net cost savings, and drive competition into historically under-competed markets.The team operates at the intersection of Amazon's Climate Pledge commitments and unprecedented construction demand — including responsibility for sustainable construction materials such as steel, low-carbon steel, and low-carbon concrete. You will collaborate cross-business with AWS to leverage Amazon's combined construction scale and avoid market fragmentation.This is a high-growth, fast-moving team undergoing significant global expansion. The right candidate is a self-starter with dedication to seeing projects through to the end, able to work independently in a collaborative, creative, and ambiguous environment. You bring an eye for detail, determination to standardize processes, and the ability to deliver high-quality work. This position involves direct engagement with internal and external stakeholders at every level — from project teams to senior leadership — and requires the credibility to inform decision-making and earn trust across the business.Key job responsibilitiesOwn end-to-end commercial delivery of multi-million-dollar GC construction projects — sourcing, competitive bid, award, contract execution, and handover.Develop and execute sourcing strategies that drive competition, maximize managed spend, and deliver measurable net cost savings.Partner cross-functionally with Real Estate, Design & Construction, and Engineering Services to align vendor capacity with program milestones — including Prime week and Peak <readiness.Run> the full supplier lifecycle: performance management, should-cost analysis, concentration risk monitoring, and sustainability delivery aligned with Amazon's Climate Pledge.Earn trust with senior stakeholders by providing data-driven market intelligence — GC capacity, regional pricing trends, and strategic opportunities — to inform roadmap decisions.Define and own KPIs (cost, speed, quality, risk); track team progress against targets and drive continuous process <improvement.Travel> up to 10% (site visits, supplier reviews, cross-regional collaboration).A day in the lifeYou negotiate with GCs and subcontractors in the morning, build a should-cost model over lunch, and present a sourcing recommendation to leadership by end of day — no two days look the <same.You> sit at the crossroads of Design & Construction, Real Estate, Engineering Services, and Finance — translating program needs into commercial outcomes that deliver sites on time, on budget, and aligned with Amazon's Climate <Pledge.You> flex between strategy and execution: developing a regional vendor panel one week, resolving a contractor escalation the <next.You> deep-dive data — market pricing, GC capacity, spend concentration — to surface opportunities others miss and bring them to life at Amazon scale.About the teamThe Construction Category team is building something new. We manage one of Amazon's largest and fastest-growing global spend categories across NA, EMEA, LATAM, MEATR, and APAC — driving competition, cost transparency, and sustainability into how Amazon builds.
