About The Role
The Event Productions System Engineer role will own both the health and maintenance oftechnical production systems as well as the operational health of the production systemsduring events. Amazon Engine’sEvent Production team is searching for an innovative and solution-oriented Events SystemsEngineer to be a part of the team producing high-profile, industry-leading production events.The Events Systems Engineer will support the team to deliver events in Amazon venues withtop-quality audio, lighting, video, and production technology, creating impactful customerexperiences.Our Event Systems Engineers operate live high-capacity events while managing andmaintaining the health, quality, and reliability of all production systems and equipmentwithin the venue, ensuring the success of each event. With technical autonomy, they engagewith production teams to design, program, and execute events, transforming customers' ideasinto exceptional <experiences.In> this role, you’ll serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for technical event productionswith strong, deep systems knowledge. Providing onsite support, you’ll continuously improvecustomer experiences, adapt to diverse event types, and flex with last-minute client needs andchanges. You will perform planned and unplanned system maintenance overhauls ensuringflawless performance and long-term reliability.Successful candidates will have strong experience supporting large-scale productions of liveonsite events. They have a deep understanding and background of the engineering systemsand focus on providing hands-on technical problem solving in fast-paced environments. Thisis a full-time, 40/hr. week position with adaptive event hours (not necessarily normal businesshours). Travel throughout the domestic US would be expected approx. 35% of the time andpotential travel to regional venues if needed.Key job responsibilities•Collaborate with System and Production Engineers within the Event Production organization,ensuring system quality; operating procedures and industry best practices are followed with asafety-first mindset•Train, develop and coordinate opportunities with the production team to improve theirskillsets and develop their knowledge base by identifying process improvementsPre-Event:• Provide event setup coordination of assigned technical systems and recommendations fortechnical resource scheduling and labor script• Test and troubleshoot equipment use cases, evaluating risks to properly gauge and act onimmediate optimum solutions, determining which cases need to be escalated to management• Create and implement systematic backups for production technologies, ensuring teams andclients understand backup procedures if a problem occursEvent Execution:•Support and partner with Operational Engineers to solve current problems and proactivelyimplement solutions to prevent issues before they occur•Quickly identify and resolve problems, escalating complex issues to managementmaintaining production stability•Effectively and quickly troubleshoot, identifying root cause, evaluating risks and acting onimmediate solutions to properly gauge optimum solutions for the best quality attainablePost-Event:•Assist with strike of event space(s), ensuring correct equipment handling and storage•Participate in post-event feedback, discussions, and surveysA day in the lifeIn this role, you will communicate and coordinate proactively with event teams, customers,business partners, third-party vendors, and engineers across the organization stayingconnected to ensure the quality of the systems, operating procedures and key event detailsremain of bar raising quality.
