Dental Surgery Technologist

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigeria Nationals for the position below at the Institute’s headquarter in Ibadan.

Position: Dental Surgery Technologist

Duration: 6 months’ renewable Location: Ibadan

DUTIES

• Perform basic dental procedure within the ambit of Dental Surgery Technologist e.g. Scaling and polishing
• Provide preventive dental care
• Prepare the dental operatory and ensure all instruments and materials are ready before procedures.
• Assist the dentist during dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Provide support with dental imaging
• Ensure effective infection control and sterilization of instruments in compliance with medical protocols.
• Monitor patient comfort and well-being during treatment.
• Educate patients on post-procedure care and oral hygiene practices.
• Maintain patient records and ensure accurate charting.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.

• Ensure compliance with the facility’s safety, health, and ethical guidelines.

QUALIFICATION

HND in Dental Surgery Technology or HND in Dental Technician, with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience performing similar functions in a structured organization.

• Good knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and instruments.
• Strong understanding of infection control practices and health & safety protocols.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit professionalism.
