About The Role

About the Kessler Scholars Program

The Kessler Scholars Program is a community of first-generation, limited-income college students at Saint Mary’s College. We provide academic, financial, and social support to empower students to thrive and graduate. The Program Assistant will help ensure the daily success of the program by supporting operations, programming, and student engagement.

Responsibilities

The student worker will support the Kessler Scholars staff with tasks including (but not limited to)

  • ● Greeting and checking in scholars during office hours and events
  • ● Assisting with set-up and break-down of workshops, socials, and meetings
  • ● Helping manage attendance, sign-ins, and program materials
  • ● Creating flyers, emails, and social media posts to promote events
  • ● Running simple errands on campus (copying, delivering items, etc.)
  • ● Serving as a peer resource and positive representative of the program

Miscellaneous

  • ● Attend monthly staff meetings
  • ● Attend regular meetings with the supervisor
  • ● Participate in learning opportunities that build professional and leadership skills
  • ● Occasionally, provide administrative support to the Division for Belonging staff
  • ● Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • ● Must be a current Saint Mary’s student (sophomore–senior preferred)
  • ● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • ● Reliable, responsible, and able to manage time effectively
  • ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ● Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment
  • ● Positive attitude and commitment to supporting first-generation students
  • ● Familiarity with Canva, Microsoft Office, or Google Suite (preferred but not required)

Work Schedule
