Research Technician I

Performs general operational assistance in the laboratory. This person will assist in day-to-day lab operations while conducting straight forward experiments.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY

• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally

• Ability to use a PC or Mac computer and Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). To create instruction material, reports and equipment brochures.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• -
• Familiarity with the operations of basic laboratory equipment; ability to troubleshoot minor malfunctions of scientific equipment holdings.
• -
• Excellent record keeping and file maintenance skills.
• -
• Excellent customer service skills.
• -
• Ability to work with mice on a daily to weekly basis.
• -
• Proficient in working with databases.
• -
• Ability to work on projects under the supervision of the PI.
