Job Description

PPT Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Test Engineer in the National Capital Region. The Test Engineer will perform system software operational testing activities for a complex IT system.

Description of Responsibilities for the Test Engineer

The Test Engineer performs analysis of the IT System's Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) and Critical Operational Issues (COIs) and supports the planning of Operational Assessments. The Test Engineer participates in the review of an agile development team efforts and assesses requirements, user story demonstrations, performance testing, survey data and on-site operational testing. The Test Engineer records and reports assessment results and determines the Operational Effectiveness against Major Operating Requirements, Interoperability, Suitability, Reliability-Availability-Maintainability, Training, Scalability, Disaster Recovery, Usability, and Security. The Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring that testing conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results, and project managers are fully informed of testing status and application deviations from documented system and user requirements. The Test Engineer will possess and apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments which are broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. The Test Engineer will function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. May supervise others.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for the Test Engineer

• Experience in assessing Key Performance Parameters and Critical Operational Issues
• Experience in planning Operational Test approach, Measures of Performance/Effectiveness/Suitability, and Surveys.
• Experience in evaluating development team performance testing and assess results against Operational Assessment Plan.
• Must have excellent writing and communication skills.
• Must have either a Master's Degree or at least 15 years of experience and an Associate's Degree.
• Experience conducting software acceptance tests.
• Experience conducting software system integration tests.
• Experience generating test plans and delivering test results/reports and associated documentation.
• Approximately 15% travel may be required.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for the Test Engineer

• Good understanding of IT security technology (software and hardware) and best practices for software development.
• Experience with IT infrastructure design/analyses to improve system performance and security.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services.
