Enterprise Architect Microsoft Copilot & Azure AI Platform

  • Contract Type: Long term (6-12 months)
  • Location: 2 days/week on-site, Belgium (exact location shared on application)

Rate : Market Rate

ROLE OVERVIEW

Our client, a major financial services institution in Belgium, is looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect to support the further development of their AI platform landscape. The architect will own the strategic positioning, architectural governance, and roadmap of Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Azure AI services within the organisation. The role demands both deep technical expertise and a clear point of view on the evolution of Generative AI within a highly regulated financial environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Enterprise Architecture

  • Define the AI and Copilot architecture within the enterprise landscape
  • Own architectural principles, standards, and governance
  • Draw up target architectures and multi-year roadmaps
  • Translate business use cases into scalable platform solutions
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Data, and Business teams

Microsoft Copilot & Copilot Studio

  • Strategic ownership of Copilot Studio within the organisation
  • Define the target operating model for Copilot Studio
  • Provide architectural guidance on new AI use cases
  • Govern agents, orchestration, plugins, and connectors
  • Define best practice for agent lifecycle management, multi-agent architecture, fast governance, knowledge base, and human-in-the-loop processes

Azure AI Platform

Develop reference architectures for Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Azure Functions, API Management, Azure Kubernetes Services, Fabric integrations, and Data Platform integrations

Define scalable AI platform patterns for the organisation

Security & Compliance

  • Translate financial regulations into AI governance
  • Collaborate with security and risk teams
  • Define the RBAC model, managed identities, Key Vault strategy, data protection model, and Responsible AI principles

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as sparring partner for Enterprise Architects, Microsoft Product Teams, Security teams, and Product Owners
  • Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders
  • Advise management and steering committees

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must be able to evidence all of the following

Proven Enterprise Architecture experience, including target architectures, multi-year roadmaps, and governance frameworks

Hands-on strategic ownership of Microsoft Copilot/Copilot Studio, including agent lifecycle, multi-agent architecture, and governance

Demonstrated ability to design reference architectures across the Azure AI stack: Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Azure Functions, API Management, AKS

Experience translating regulatory requirements into AI governance (RBAC, managed identities, Key Vault, data protection, Responsible AI) - ideally within financial services or another highly regulated sector

Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills, with the credibility to advise at management/steering-committee level

Ability to challenge Microsoft directly on product and roadmap decisions, and defend architectural choices at C-level

Professional fluency in English and Dutch

Available to work 2 days/week on-site in Belgium from 1 October 2026 (or...
