About The Role

The Forklift Operator will be responsible for performing various duties in the warehouse in a fast-paced lean environment to include: receiving and put-away of all inbound receipts, shipping, and replenishment (stocking) of products to pick locations via forklift or by cart moves. Maintain inventory accuracy. Monitor coolers/freezer temperatures. Responsible for keeping warehouse area organized. Must have both stand-up and sit-down forklift experience and RF scan gun experience.

Hours for this role will be Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm

Position responsibilities include, but not limited to

  • Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evening, nights and weekends due to varying freight volumes
  • Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jack, forklift and by hand as needed
  • Must be able to operate stand up forklifts primarily as these will be used the majority of the time
  • Utilize mobile handheld devices for tracking shipments
  • Safely climb in and out of trailers
  • Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (up to 50 lbs. frequently)
  • Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g. pallets, straps, rope)
  • Safety walk and stand for extended periods of time on a loading dock that has potential to be below freezing and may become slippery
  • Safely reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary to perform the job duties
  • Verify and complete required documentation and reports
  • Adhere to company safety policies
  • Frequent contact with co-workers and supervisors; fast-paced and deadline oriented
  • Safely work in cold weather conditions

Required skills and experience

  • Stand up forklift or high-low forklift experience
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to speak/read/write in English fluently
  • Good basic math skills

Preferred skills and experience

  • High School Diploma or GED

Physical requirements

  • Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to stand, communicate, and listen
  • Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Able to perform repetitive movements
  • Able to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
