Grocery Manager (Night, Full-Time)

• NAS Oceana Commissary | Virginia Beach, VA
• Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 Annually

• Harris Government Services is seeking an experienced Grocery Manager to lead night operations at the NAS Oceana Commissary which is a large grocery store. We are responsible for shelf stocking, receiving, storage, and holding area operations.

This hands-on leadership role manages a workforce of 50+ employees and is responsible for staffing, productivity, safety, customer service, and contract performance. The successful candidate will lead by example and actively support daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop 50+ employees
• Manage scheduling, productivity, and labor performance
• Oversee stocking, receiving, warehouse, and merchandising operations
• Ensure contract compliance, safety, and quality standards
• Maintain strong relationships with commissary management and government personnel

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of management experience
• Experience managing teams of 50+ employees
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
• Ability to obtain access to military installations

Preferred

• Commissary, grocery, warehouse, or retail management experience
• Government contract experience
• Prior military service

Physical Requirements

• Lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Stand and walk for extended periods
• Perform operational duties alongside employees when needed
