Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Geriatric Psychiatric Unit

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Geriatric Psychiatric team. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to elderly patients with psychiatric conditions in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
  • Monitor and document patients’ mental and physical health status, including vital signs, medication administration, and behavioral observations
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs
  • Support patients with activities of daily living, ensuring their safety and comfort
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists, to coordinate comprehensive care
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment plans, and medication management
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and observations
  • Adhere to all safety, privacy, and confidentiality standards in compliance with healthcare regulations

Skills and Qualifications

  • Valid and current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of employment
  • Prior experience in psychiatric or geriatric care preferred
  • Strong understanding of mental health disorders common in elderly populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism
  • Basic knowledge of medication administration and safety protocols
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
