Job Description & Skills Required

Wonderfoods Unlimited Company T/A Donnelly Fresh Foods is seeking 1 Quality Assurance Officer to support the Quality Department in maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance within a BRC-certified fresh food manufacturing environment.

Main Duties Include

  • -Monitor and maintain compliance with BRC, HACCP, GMP, Bord Bia, and food safety standards throughout production.
  • -Review, update, and maintain product specifications, quality documentation, and traceability records.
  • -Conduct internal quality audits and assist in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • -Inspect and approve incoming raw materials and finished products against required specifications.
  • -Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality, hygiene, and food safety procedures.
  • -Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • -Support staff training in food safety, quality procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • -Maintain accurate quality records and assist with regulatory inspections and customer audits.
  • -Work closely with production and management teams to ensure products consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • -Ensure compliance with all relevant food legislation and company quality management systems.

Essential Requirements

  • -A minimum of a Level 7 qualification (Ordinary Bachelor's Degree) in Food Science or an equivalent field.
  • -Experience in a Quality Assurance role within a food manufacturing or similar business is essential.
  • -Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • -Strong communication and report-writing abilities.
  • -Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • -Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Training Provided

  • Food Standards Auditing.
  • HACCP Introduction or HACCP Implementation & Verification.
  • Other training courses relevant to the role.
  • Hours: 39 hours per week
  • Salary: €36,605 annually
  • Hourly Rate: €18.05 per hour
  • Permanent, Full-Time Position
