Requirements of the New Patient Referral Coordinator

• High school education or G.E.D. equivalent.
• -
• Maintain strict confidentiality.
• -
• Possess strong organizational skills.
• -
• Experience with referrals preferred.
• -
• Prior experience in a medical office environment and familiarity with electronic medical records are preferred.
• -
• Ability to work on site Monday-Friday during regular office hours.

Responsibilities of the New Patient Referral Coordinator

• -
• Sort, prioritize, and organize new, incoming requests for consultations.
• -
• Create charts in electronic medical record (EMR)
• -
• Enter demographic and insurance information into electronic charts.
• -
• Scan documents into chart.
• -
• Ensure the accuracy of patient registration and data entry.
• -
• Schedule new patient appointments accurately with appropriate phone etiquette.
• -
• Enroll patients in portal.
• -
• Support other departments as needed.
