Remote – LATAM

About the Project

We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a greenfield initiative focused on turning an existing proof of concept into a production-grade data product.

The project involves building a reliable data pipeline and data service that will provide cyber risk insights to brokers in Asian markets, helping them make better-informed decisions when preparing quotes for underwriters.

You’ll work closely with Data Science and Data Engineering teams, taking an existing POC and evolving it into a scalable, reliable, and maintainable solution.

What you’ll do

  • Design, build, and productionize robust data pipelines using Python and Airflow.
  • Transform an existing Data Science POC into a reliable, maintainable production solution.
  • Build and maintain data processing workflows, including scheduling, retries, validations, and regression checks.
  • Work with PostgreSQL to design efficient schemas, queries, views, and data access patterns.
  • Build the data access layer using GraphQL and, over time, Hasura.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Scientists to integrate and operationalize existing NLP/LLM-based components.
  • Ensure reliable and consistent data delivery on a recurring cadence.
  • Work with AWS-based infrastructure and understand how services, orchestration, storage, and connectivity fit together.
  • Collaborate with SRE and Engineering teams on deployment and production-related needs.
  • Take ownership of technical decisions and independently drive work from requirements to production.

Tech Stack You’ll Use

  • Core: Python, PostgreSQL, Apache Airflow, GraphQL
  • Infrastructure & Data: AWS, S3, Redis, Elasticsearch, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, GitHub Actions
  • Additional technologies: Hasura, SQLAlchemy, Liquibase/Flyway

What we’re looking for

  • Strong professional experience in Data Engineering .
  • Advanced proficiency in Python , especially for data pipelines and data processing.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database fundamentals.
  • Experience working with cloud environments, ideally AWS .
  • Basic DevOps knowledge and the ability to understand infrastructure, deployment, and connectivity concepts.
  • Experience with GraphQL , or a strong foundation that allows you to ramp up quickly.
  • Ability to work autonomously, make technical decisions, and take ownership of solutions.
  • Comfortable collaborating with Data Scientists and other cross-functional technical teams.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and an interest in using them as part of the development workflow.
  • Experience with Hasura, cybersecurity data, or data-as-a-product environments is a plus.
  • English level B2 or higher , with the ability to communicate effectively in an international team.
