About The Role
As a FOS Collection Executive, you will be responsible for managing and resolving customer accounts in arrears. Your primary goal will be to maintain positive relationships with customers, negotiate repayment plans, and ensure timely debt recovery. You will work closely with our collections team to develop strategies and implement best practices for debt collection.
- Contact customers with overdue accounts to discuss payment arrangements and negotiate repayment plans.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and payment agreements.
- Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely payments and identify potential issues or risks.
- Collaborate with the collections team to develop effective collection strategies and improve recovery rates.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional and respectful attitude during interactions.
- Stay updated with industry regulations and ensure compliance with legal requirements in debt collection.
- Escalate complex or sensitive cases to the appropriate team members or managers for further action.
- Generate and analyze reports on collection performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Assist in training and mentoring new collection executives, sharing best practices and knowledge.
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant post-secondary education in finance, business, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a collections or customer service role, preferably in a financial institution.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and report generation.
- Knowledge of debt collection regulations and best practices is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a collaborative and supportive attitude.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving customer issues.
- Willingness to undergo training and stay updated with industry trends and collection techniques.
