About The Role
As a Stores Keeper - Inventory Control Assistant (Experienced Inventory Control Assistant) here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will support inventory accuracy, material availability, and effective stores operations. The position works closely with Stores, Receiving, Materials Management, Planning, Quality, Engineering, and laboratory teams to ensure material is available in the correct quantity and location when required.
You will report directly to our Sr Materials Mgmt Manager and you’ll work out of our Cambridge, ON location on an on-site work schedule.
In this role, you will be responsible for material put-away, kitting and delivery to laboratories, cycle counting, Kanban replenishment, and accurate inventory transactions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management and Put-Away
- Process material put-away promptly and store items in the correct assigned locations.
- Complete accurate ERP transactions for receipts, transfers, issues, returns, adjustments, and location changes within assigned authority.
- Verify part number, quantity, revision or configuration, status, and labeling before storage or issue.
- Maintain appropriate material identification, segregation, traceability, preservation, and storage conditions.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and support corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Kitting and Material Distribution
- Pick, kit, verify, and deliver materials and components to laboratories and other designated work areas.
- Confirm kit completeness and accuracy against the applicable material list, request, or work instruction.
- Support priority and shortage requests while maintaining transaction and traceability discipline.
- Process unused material returns and ensure inventory is restored to the correct status and storage location.
- Coordinate with internal customers to resolve shortages, substitutions, damaged material, and incomplete kits.
Cycle Counting and Inventory Accuracy
- Execute scheduled cycle counts and physical inventory activities in accordance with established procedures.
- Research count variances using transaction history, physical location checks, and supporting documentation.
- Escalate unexplained variances and support approved inventory corrections.
- Monitor recurring errors and recommend improvements to storage, labeling, transaction, and material-movement practices.
- Support inventory accuracy measures and maintain complete count records.
Kanban and Stores Operations
- Monitor laboratory Kanban locations and replenish materials to approved min/max levels.
- Review usage patterns and notify the appropriate stakeholder when Kanban quantities, locations, or replenishment triggers require adjustment.
- Maintain FIFO or other required stock-rotation practices, including shelf-life and age-sensitive material controls.
- Support location audits, housekeeping, 5S, and organization of stores and point-of-use inventory.
- Identify obsolete, excess, damaged, expired, or incorrectly located material and route it for appropriate review and disposition.
Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement
- Follow quality, safety, security, ESD, FOD, and material-handling procedures.
- Use suitable packaging, containers, and handling methods to prevent material damage or contamination.
- Support internal audits and ensure records and storage locations remain audit-ready.
- Participate in Lean and continuous-improvement activities focused on inventory accuracy, flow, and service to internal customers.
The Honeywell Aerospace building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP and CSP security clearance.
MUST HAVE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory control, stores, warehousing, or materials management.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with inventory concepts, cycle counting, and material transaction processing.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with ERP systems and inventory transaction processing; SAP experience is an asset.
- Able to safely handle materials and complete physical stores tasks, including lifting up to 35 lbs.
WE VALUE
- Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, laboratory support, or another regulated environment.
- Knowledge of Kanban, FIFO, min/max replenishment, and Lean principles.
- Forklift or powered material-handling equipment certification.
- Experience with ESD-sensitive, shelf-life-controlled, serialized, or traceable material.
- Ability to read part numbers, material documents, labels, and work instructions accurately.

The annual base salary range for this position is $45,000 to $60,000 in Cambridge, ON. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
