Honor Foods is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our growing Purchasing team in Philadelphia.

This is a highly visible role responsible for sourcing, purchasing, supplier management, inventory planning, and strategic procurement across a diverse portfolio of foodservice products. The ideal candidate has experience buying commodities within the food distribution, foodservice, wholesale, or redistribution industry and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

• ✔ Manage purchasing activities for foodservice and commodity products
• ✔ Develop and maintain strong supplier and vendor relationships
• ✔ Negotiate pricing, contracts, rebates, and purchasing agreements
• ✔ Monitor inventory levels and support demand planning initiatives
• ✔ Analyze market conditions, pricing trends, and supply chain impacts
• ✔ Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Transportation, and Finance teams to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction
• ✔ Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards
• ✔ Review purchasing performance, inventory reports, and forecasting data
• ✔ Support and mentor junior purchasing team members
• ✔ Contribute to continuous process improvements and purchasing strategy

What We're Looking For

✔ 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or commodity buying experience within foodservice, food distribution, wholesale food, grocery, protein, produce, frozen foods, or related industries

✔ Strong knowledge of inventory management, forecasting, and supply chain operations

✔ Experience negotiating vendor agreements and managing supplier relationships

✔ Ability to analyze market trends, commodity pricing, and purchasing opportunities

✔ Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/inventory management systems

✔ Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Procurement, or related field preferred
