Porters Neck Village is recruiting for a hospitality focused Utility Worker/Dishwasher to join our team! This position is responsible for a number of kitchen activities including pot washing, dish washing, general cleaning duties and storing food and non-food supplies in the Culinary Services Department. The Utility Worker/Dishwasher position is responsible for maintaining a superior level of quality service and cleanliness at all times.

This position is part time and pays $15/hr. Friday - Sunday schedule.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Dishwasher

  • Exemplify at all times Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization.
  • Sets up the dish and pot washing area
  • Prepares for dish washing and washes pots, dishes and utensils.
  • Cleans and sanitizes production equipment, work surfaces and other areas of the kitchen including mopping and sweeping, according to cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Empties trash containers as required.
  • Assist with meal deliveries and delivery process as needed.
  • Works buffet line as needed.
  • Trains in prep cook area as time allows
  • Maintains standards for personal appearance and cleanliness, maintains orderly, safe, sanitary, and secure work area at all time and follows all established safety and quality control procedures.

Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to understand direction in English
  • Ability to walk/stand for 100% of the work day
  • Ability to life and carry up to 35lbs independently and push/pull carts and trays weighing up to 100lbs
  • Minimum of one year restaurant/senior living or equivalent experience
