About The Role
Production Operations
- Direct and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules and customer commitments.
- Monitor production performance and address issues impacting safety, quality, delivery, or productivity.
- Optimize staffing and labor utilization to maximize operational efficiency.
- Ensure equipment is operating effectively and coordinate with Maintenance and Engineering to minimize downtime.
- Support production scale-up activities and implementation of new manufacturing technologies.
Quality
- Promote a “Quality First” culture throughout the operation.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturing specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.
- Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and continuous quality improvements.
- Drive reduction of scrap, rework, and process variation.
Leadership
- Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop production employees.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
- Support employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
- Manage attendance, scheduling, overtime, and staffing requirements.
- Foster teamwork and effective communication across all shifts and departments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Planning and Scheduling
- Supply Chain
- Facilities
- EHS
- Support new product introductions and manufacturing qualification activities.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate’s degree or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- 2–5 years of manufacturing supervisory / management experience.
- Experience supervising hourly employees in a production environment.
Safety Requirements
- Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture with zero injuries as the goal.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and company EHS policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, audits, and incident investigations.
- Ensure employees receive required training and maintain compliance with all operating procedures.
- All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.
Quality and Environmental Responsibilities
Depending on location, this position may be responsible for the execution and maintenance of the ISO 9000, 9001, 14001 and/or other applicable standards that may apply to the relevant roles and responsibilities within the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
