In-House Legal Counsel

About HYPE

HYPE is a fast-growing international functional products company operating across Energy Drinks and Nutrition. We are looking for an experienced, commercially minded In-House Legal Counsel to provide practical legal support across the business. The In-House Legal Counsel acts as a trusted advisor to Management and the CEO, to align legal advice with the company’s strategic and commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Corporate Law

• Act as the company’s primary legal advisor across all business functions.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including distribution, manufacturing, supply, licensing, consultancy, sponsorship, marketing, logistics, confidentiality and service agreements.
• Support and negotiate international commercial transactions and cross-border business deals.
• Partner with internal teams and international stakeholders to provide practical legal advice and facilitate global business operations.
• Identify legal risks and provide commercially sound, business-oriented solutions.

International Legal & Compliance

• Support HYPE’s international operations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Coordinate and manage external legal counsel and international advisors to ensure timely, practical and commercially focused legal support.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
• Support dispute resolution, employment-related legal matters, data protection and other legal issues together with external specialists where required.

Intellectual Property

• Manage HYPE’s global trademark portfolio, including registrations, renewals, oppositions and enforcement.
• Coordinate with external trademark attorneys and oversee the maintenance, protection and strategic development of the company’s intellectual property portfolio.
• Advise on trademarks, copyright, licensing and brand protection matters.

CEO & Strategic Projects

• Partner closely with the CEO on strategic, commercial and corporate initiatives.
• Support acquisitions, partnerships, international expansion, new business ventures and other confidential projects.
• Conduct legal research and provide practical advice on complex business matters.
• Lead or support cross-functional projects and legal process improvements across the organisation.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 10+ years’ experience in an international business environment.
• Extensive experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts and international business agreements.
• Knowledge of real estate law would be considered a plus.
• Experience managing trademark portfolios and working with external IP counsel.
• Proven ability to manage external legal advisors and collaborate with international business partners across multiple jurisdictions.
• Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills in English (and Spanish).
• Commercially minded, proactive, highly organised and able to balance legal risk with business objectives.
• High level of integrity, discretion and professionalism.
