About The Role
Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee construction activities associated with the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure upgrades at the Castle Point Campus, Hudson Valley Healthcare System, Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). You will provide on-site construction oversight, inspection, quality assurance, and coordination to ensure that project activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contract requirements, drawings, specifications, schedule, and quality standards.
This position is contingent upon contract award. The anticipated contract term is two (2) years, with annual option periods that may extend the contract to a maximum of five (5) years.
Salary: $105,000 - $120,000/year (range varies depending on experience and qualifications).
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day construction management and field oversight
- Monitor construction progress and contractor performance
- Supervise and coordinate construction inspection and quality assurance activities
- Review construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and other technical documents
- Conduct and document field inspections
- Maintain accurate daily progress reports and inspection reports
- Monitor construction activities for compliance with contract requirements and approved plans
- Track construction schedules and identify potential delays or deficiencies
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, designers, project management personnel, and government representatives
- Identify construction issues and assist in developing timely solutions
- Support project cost and schedule management
- Monitor workmanship, materials, and construction activities to ensure required quality standards are met
- Lead inspection and quality assurance personnel assigned to the project
- Communicate construction progress, issues, and recommendations to the Project Manager and COR
- Support successful completion of construction activities while maintaining quality, schedule, and contract compliance
Qualifications to be successful in the role
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field from an accredited university
10 years of directly related experience in lieu of bachelor's degree
Minimum 7 years of experience in facility construction management
Federal, VA/VAMC, healthcare, or EHR infrastructure project experience is highly desirable
Experience supervising or overseeing engineering, design, and construction activities
Strong experience with construction inspection, quality assurance, schedule control, and project coordination
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
Strong understanding of construction processes, field operations, and project documentation
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Ability to work effectively with contractors, engineers, inspectors, project managers, and government personnel
