Job Summary

The Civil Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day construction activities at the project site. The role ensures that work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations while meeting project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily civil construction activities at the site.
• Allocate work to masons, carpenters, bar benders, helpers, and subcontractors.
• Ensure work is carried out as per approved drawings and specifications.
• Monitor productivity of labour and ensure optimum utilization of manpower.
• Coordinate with Site Engineers for daily work planning and execution.
• Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available before starting work.
• Inspect shuttering, reinforcement, concreting, masonry, plastering, and finishing works before execution.
• Maintain daily progress records and report work status to the Site Engineer.
• Ensure quality workmanship and rectify defects immediately.
• Enforce company safety policies and ensure all workers use appropriate PPE.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings whenever required.
• Monitor attendance and discipline of workers at the site.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely completion of assigned activities.
• Identify site issues and report them promptly for corrective action.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and cleanliness of the work area.
• Prevent wastage of construction materials and maintain material accountability.
• Verify completed work quantities before submission for billing or measurement.
• Assist in resolving technical and execution-related issues on site.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements and statutory regulations.
• Perform any other site-related duties assigned by the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• Diploma/ITI in Civil Engineering or equivalent preferred.
• SSLC/Plus Two with relevant construction experience may also be considered.
