Essential Functions
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, systems, and reporting through
- automation, system integrations, and dashboard creation.
- Prepare and present financial results and variance analyses to executive leadership and the
- Board of Directors.
- Manage the annual external audit process and relationships with auditors and external advisors.
- Own the monthly and quarterly close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries,
- and financial statement preparation in accordance with US GAAP.
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts
- receivable, fixed assets, cash management, and payroll.
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, account
- reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Revenue Cycle, HR, Operations, and FP&A to ensure
- consistent and accurate financial practices, including support for revenue recognition models and
- budgeting processes.
- Enhance and maintain internal control systems, ensuring compliance with GAAP and preparation
- for potential audit, acquisition, or IPO activity.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, controls, and reporting.
Revenue Recognition & Healthcare Accounting
- Oversee revenue recognition processes and related controls.
- Partner closely with Revenue Cycle Management teams to validate revenue reporting and
- financial results.
- Ensure accurate accounting for healthcare-related transactions and revenue streams.
- Support accounting activities related to MSO and physician practice operations.
Audit, Compliance & Controls
- Serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
- Coordinate annual audits and support other financial compliance initiatives.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls across the accounting organization.
- Ensure accounting practices remain compliant with applicable regulations and standards.
Leadership & Business Partnership
- Lead and develop accounting managers and team members.
- Partner with operational leaders and physician groups as the voice of Accounting.
- Collaborate with the CFO and Finance team to support organizational initiatives and
- strategic decision-making.
- Provide accounting guidance and support for new business initiatives, acquisitions, and
- operational changes.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- 4 Midlevel Managers (including payroll / AP)
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, including Accounting Managers,
- AP/AR, and senior accountants.
Experience and Education
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 8-12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of accounting
- teams.
- Prior experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller, or similar
- accounting leadership role.
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP, technical accounting, and financial reporting
- requirements.
- Experience leading month-end close, financial reporting, and external audits.
- Strong leadership, team development, and cross-functional business partnership skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools (e.g., Great Plains, NetSuite,
- Tableau, Power BI).
Preferred
CPA designation strongly preferred.
Healthcare, physician practice, MSO, or other multi-site healthcare experience.
Experience in a high-growth and/or private equity-backed environment.
Revenue recognition and revenue cycle management experience.
Combination of public accounting and private industry experience.
Big 4 public accounting experience.
Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or rapidly growing organizations
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
