About The Role
Our Lady of the Fields Parish
seeks a dynamic and mission-driven
Director of Communications
to lead and unify all parish communications. This role is essential in moving beyond simple information-sharing toward actively proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ and advancing the parish's mission and vision.
The Director of Communications will develop, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that strengthens engagement within the parish and expands outreach to the broader community. This individual will serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring that all communications reflect and promote the parish's mission at the highest level. The Director of Communications will report directly to the Pastor.

Position Purpose
Currently, parish communications are handled in a fragmented and reactive manner. This position is designed to
- Create a cohesive, strategic communications approach
- Strengthen parish identity and visibility
- Proclaim the parish's mission and vision in all messaging
- Foster deeper engagement within the parish and increase outreach to the wider community.
Essential Functions
Strategic Communications Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive parish-wide communications strategy
- Ensure all communications consistently reflect the parish's mission, vision, and branding
Serve on the Senior Leadership Team
Assessment & Planning
- Review existing communication channels and tools
- Identify gaps, opportunities, and areas for improvement
Branding & Identity
- Establish and maintain consistent parish branding
- Present a welcoming and engaging community image
Digital Presence & Technology
- Oversee website restructuring, maintenance, and content management
- Improve the livestream experience
Social Media Management
Manage Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Flocknote
Content Creation & Publications
Develop and manage newsletters, bulletins, liturgical programs, and parish guides
Volunteer Engagement
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers supporting outreach, livestreaming, and website initiatives
Outreach & Community Engagement
- Build relationships with community organizations and media outlets
- Coordinate communications efforts with the Archdiocese
Signage & Visual Communications
Oversee signage and visual communications across parish facilities
Marketing & Advertising
Promote parish events, initiatives, and the parish mission
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field preferred
- Strong digital communications and content strategy skills
- Ability to effectively communicate a faith-based mission and vision
- Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills
- Strong collaborative leadership style
- Proficiency with social media platforms, websites, email marketing, and digital communications tools
- Practicing Catholic preferred, with a commitment to supporting the mission of the Church
- Pay Range: $70,000 - $80,000, Annualized
