Radar Data Analyst

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking an analyst to support verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) activities associated with Missile Defense System (MDS) modeling and simulation (M&S).Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe candidate will be supporting MDA/SEQV Systems Verification, which has been designated the MDA M&S agent, with a particular emphasis on application of radar expertiseDevelop and conduct sensitivity studies to assess radar performance characteristics within the scope of MDA M&SDevelop data analysis code to assess HWIL/Digital Models against their requirements and determine their suitability for stated intended uses in MDS simulationsResearch technical papers on models and identify data pertinent to model VV&ACollaborate with counterparts from other stakeholder agencies, such as software developers and accreditation agents, to establish adequate V&V evidence and correct modeling issuesQualifications and Education RequirementsUS citizenship and a secret level clearance is requiredBS and/or MS in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science discipline and 7+ years of relevant experienceExpert working knowledge of radar fundamentals; experience with environmental perturbations that affect radars, such as refraction, atmospheric absorption, scintillation, and sky noise is desirableFamiliarity with MDA radar LRIDs (logical record indicators)Understanding of radar discrimination methodology, especially with respect to wideband featuresExperience with radar debris mitigation logicKnowledge of signal processing techniques is a plusThe pay range for this position is $150,000/year to $180,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors.
