POSITION SUMMARYDirectors of Business Strategy provide exceptional service to our clients and support Financial Advisor(s) (FAs)/ Private Wealth Advisor(s) (PWAs)/ teams on a daily basis. The Director of Business Strategy is a senior service level position for a Financial Advisor(s) (FAs)/ Private Wealth Advisor(s) (PWAs)/ teams who is responsible for enhancing and maintaining deep relationships with new and existing clients. This industry professional leads the development, implementation, and management of the team’s overall business strategy.DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Cultivating relationships with business partners and colleagues internally and externallySupporting the FA/PWA/team in cultivating and enhancing new and existing client relationships through an exceptional client experiencePlays a leadership role in assisting the FA/PWA/team in developing and delivering against their client service model, including preparing for regular meetings as well as tracking follow-upsAssisting the FA/PWA/team in developing and executing against their business plan and strategies to support it, partnering closely with other market stakeholders such as Practice Strategy Consultants, Business Development Managers and Market ManagementAt the direction of the client and/or FA/PWA/team, preparing and reviewing various client reports or financial plans from firm-approved systems for existing or prospective clientsAt the request of FA/PWA/team, participating in existing client and/or prospective client meetings, representing the service lensFocusing with the FA/PWA/team and other business partners to optimize business practice efficienciesMay allocate work among a team of Support ProfessionalsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:Education and/or Experience 10+ years of experience in a field relevant to the position requiredAdvanced degree or professional certification or prior industry experience requiredActive Series 7 (GS) and Series 66 (AG/RA) or Series 63 (AG) and Series 65 (RA) requiredIf required, obtain, and maintain CFP or CFA designationAdditional product licenses may be requiredKnowledge/Skills Strong leadership skillsKnowledge of financial services products, including but not limited to equities, bonds, options, mutual funds, annuities, insurance, and managed accountsTechnically proficient and quick learner of new and updated platformsDetail oriented with superior organizational skills and ability to prioritizeExpert knowledge of basic personal computer, MS Office (particularly MS Excel) and internet applicationsExceptional writing, interpersonal and client service skillsStrong time management skillsTeam player with the ability to collaborate with othersAbility to work in a fast-paced, evolving environmentAdaptable and ability to multi-taskGoal oriented, self-motivated and results drivenReports to: Market Business Service Officer and/or Business Service OfficerWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: At Morgan Stanley, we raise, manage and allocate capital for our clients – helping them reach their goals.
