About The Role
The Clinical Informatics Nurse supports the adoption and optimization of electronic clinical systems by educating and supporting physicians and interprofessional clinical staff. This role bridges clinical practice and digital systems to improve workflows, promote best practices, and enhance quality of care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Systems Education & Training
- Develop, maintain, and deliver in-person, virtual, and e-learning training for electronic clinical applications.
- Provide one-to-one, unit-based, and classroom education for physicians, clinicians, learners, and staff.
- Create and update learning resources such as quick reference guides, videos, and how-to documentation.
Clinical Support & Adoption
- Provide ongoing in-person, virtual, telephone, and email support to clinical users.
- Deliver just-in-time support in clinical environments to reinforce adoption and best practices.
- Support staff during system implementations, upgrades, downtimes, and external reviews.
Workflow Analysis & Optimization
- Analyze clinical workflows and identify opportunities to improve system usability and efficiency.
- Provide clinical recommendations for system design, optimization, and digital initiatives.
Project & Initiative Support
- Participate in committees, working groups, and project teams supporting system-related initiatives.
- Contribute to process improvement and mandated organizational initiatives.
Administration & Communication
- Coordinate training logistics including scheduling, attendance tracking, evaluations, and reporting.
- Maintain training content on learning platforms and websites.
- Communicate system updates and training information through newsletters and other channels.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Registered Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BN, BScN, or equivalent).
- Experience teaching and supporting clinicians in the use of electronic clinical applications.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to integrate clinical knowledge, best practices, and technology.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and collaboration skills.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/CPR).
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
Nice to Haves
- Formal education or training in health or nursing informatics.
- Experience with electronic health record systems such as Cerner Millennium.
- Clinical experience in mental health settings.
- Experience with clinical workflow analysis and system optimization.
- Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in an additional language.

Salary Range: $44.57 – $63.85 per hour
