About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Metallurgy & Process, the

Senior Metallurgist

will provide hands-on operational metallurgy and process engineering support, with an initial focus on the Morelos Complex. You will turn complex plant data into meaningful insights, validate metallurgical performance, and support practical improvements that strengthen recovery, efficiency, and cost performance. Working closely with site Metallurgy, Plant Operations, Geology, Geometallurgy, and Technical Services teams, you will bring the detailed analysis and follow-through needed to solve complex processing challenges.

What We're Looking for

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Metallurgical, or Mineral Processing Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer designation is considered an asset.

Experience & Skills

Required

  • 10+ years of progressive technical, operational, engineering, and leadership experience, including at least 5 years in process operations.
  • Hands-on operational metallurgy experience in gold processing. Experience developed primarily in a laboratory environment will not be sufficient for this role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of flotation and leaching processes.
  • Experience in precious and base metals processing, including water systems and tailings management.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with large data sets, metallurgical balances, plant inventories, and performance trends.
  • Experience reconciling predicted metallurgical or geometallurgical performance against actual plant results and investigating variances.
  • Ability to review technical documentation, coordinate consultants, and support small-scale process improvement initiatives across multiple teams.

Fluency in Spanish and

English

  • , with the ability to communicate effectively with site and corporate stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Experience with complex or non-conventional processing flowsheets and challenging ore bodies.
  • Experience working in multicultural environments and across site and corporate teams.
  • Experience coordinating RFQs, purchase orders, invoices, budgets, and other administrative requirements related to technical initiatives.

Key Accountabilities

Analyze and validate daily metallurgical reports, identify positive and negative operating trends, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.

Support the detailed validation of month-end metallurgical balances and plant inventories, including the tracking of gold, silver, and copper in circuit, and report anomalies or deviations.

Gather, analyze, and synthesize processing, metallurgy, and geometallurgy data to support operational performance, planning, budgeting, and continuous improvement.

Support metallurgical and geometallurgical test work and validate recovery models against actual plant performance.

Correlate mineralogical characteristics, including tellurides, deleterious elements, and abnormal sulphide content, with leaching kinetics and flotation performance to improve mine-to-mill strategies.

Reconcile predicted metallurgical and geometallurgical performance against plant results, investigate variances, and help refine recovery models and life-of-mine metal assumptions.

Track plant consumables and reagent use against budget and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Lead the initial analysis and coordinate the execution of small-scale operational improvement initiatives, assessing impacts on flows, recovery, reagent consumption, and hydraulics.

Coordinate work completed by consultants, review technical documentation, and advise the Team Leader of deviations, risks, and recommended corrective actions.

Coordinate logistics, RFQs, purchase orders, invoices, budget follow-up, and related administrative activities for metallurgy and process initiatives.
