Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS) is hiring a

Therapist

to join our team providing direct clinical services to adults with complex behavioral health needs. As part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you’ll help clients achieve their goals through counseling, case management, and care coordination in both office and community-based settings.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide care coordination and direct therapeutic services

,

including individual, group, and family counseling.

  • Deliver crisis intervention and case management services to assigned clients.
  • Develop, implement, and revise treatment goals and plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Educate and support clients’ families while advocating for client rights and preferences.
  • Coordinate care with external agencies such as DSHS, courts, and housing authorities.
  • Assist clients in accessing medical and dental care and develop self-management health skills.
  • Facilitate coordination of psychiatric and medical care with providers.
  • Respond to behavioral health crises and coordinate with Designated Crisis Responders when needed.
  • Document services and client progress in accordance with agency standards.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to treatment planning and client progress reviews.
  • Provide education on substance use issues and collaborate with internal and external providers.
  • Support clients in accessing basic resources and developing life skills for autonomy.
  • Monitor court-ordered LRA compliance and coordinate with CRT and legal stakeholders as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION

Master’s

Degree in Psychology, social services, or a mental health field.

EXPERIENCE

Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)

This position requires driving clients in a personal vehicle on behalf of the agency. Therefore, the incumbent must meet all agency driving requirements, including being at least 21 years old, having been licensed for a minimum of three years, successfully completing a motor vehicle history check, possessing and maintaining a current, valid driver’s license in the state of Washington, and having reliable, insured transportation.

LICENSURE

  • Agency Affiliated Counselor (can be obtained
  • after employment)

Preferred Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

Experience in co-occurring disorders treatment, individual and group therapy, vocational services, or substance abuse treatment.

LICENSURE

Washington License (LICSW, LMFT or LMHC)
