About the RoleAccess to quality primary care in the United States is not evenly distributed. For millions of Americans, a routine sick visit or chronic disease check-in means hours in a waiting room, a long drive, or skipping care entirely. Fabric has helped connect over a million patients across the country to board-certified physicians from their phones and laptops, and we are looking for exceptional physicians to grow that <network.As> a Telehealth Physician at Fabric, you will see a genuinely diverse patient population spanning privately insured, Medicare and uninsured patients across the United States. The scope is broad by design: urgent care, weight management, primary care, and chronic disease management. The format is built around your life: you work from home, keep your existing clinical relationships, and choose shifts from our available late afternoon, evening, and weekend schedule. Fabric handles malpractice coverage and the cost of additional state licenses so you can stay focused on the medicine.This is an independent contractor engagement. You are not exclusive to Fabric unless you choose to pursue additional licensing support under a signed addendum.What You'll DoAs a Telehealth Physician at Fabric, you will deliver high-quality virtual care across a broad scope serving patients wherever they are in the United States. Your primary responsibilities will include:Conducting virtual patient encounters via video, performing clinical assessment across urgent care and primary care including acute illness, chronic disease management, metabolic health and preventive careDiagnosing and developing individualized treatment plans grounded in evidence-based practice and current clinical guidelinesPrescribing medications (we do not prescribe any controlled substances) and ordering appropriate diagnostic workup within telehealth scopeCompleting timely, accurate clinical documentation in the EMR following each encounterCollaborating with Fabric's care coordination and operations teams when patients require escalation, referral, or in-person follow-upMaintaining active, unrestricted licensure in required statesUpholding Fabric's patient experience standards, bringing the same clinical rigor and genuine warmth to a virtual encounter that you would bring in personWhy You Might Be a Good FitYou want to practice medicine without managing a practiceYou are a natural communicator who can build patient trustYou are drawn to the access mission: serving Medicare, and uninsured patients alongside commercially insured patients is the right scope of a practice to youYou value flexibility and want to maintain other clinical work, set your own schedule within available shifts, and not be anchored to a single employer if wantedYou are comfortable making confident clinical decisions with the information available in a virtual encounter, and you know when a patient needs a higher level of careYou hold licensure in multiple states and see a broad geographic reach as an assetThis Might Not Be The Right Fit If...You rely on in-person physical examination to feel clinically confident; this work requires comfort with diagnosis and decision-making from history and patient-reported symptomsYou are looking for a W-2 roleYou prefer a consistent day-shift schedule with in-person colleagues and an established patient panelYou want to specialize narrowly with treating a few conditions; this role is weight management, urgent, and primary careYou are not currently a Medicare Participating Physician, or you are unwilling to pursue the multi-state licensure the platform requires if neededYour QualificationsActive, unrestricted medical licenses in at least 5 US states; if you do not reside in an Interstate MedicalLicensure Compact (IMLC) member state, you must hold at least 8 unrestricted state licensesBoard Certified in Internal Medicine or Family MedicineMinimum 2 years of post-graduate clinical experienceCurrently a Medicare Participating PhysicianWillingness to obtain additional state medical licenses as needed (cost covered by Fabric under a signed addendum)Availability to work a combination of late afternoon, evening, Friday, and Saturday shifts (specific hours vary based on your time zone and location)Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to build rapport and conduct thorough clinical assessments via videoActive DEA in one state for credentialing purposesBonus PointsExperience in a high-volume telehealth settingSeveral years of telehealth experience predominantly video appointmentsActive licensure already in place across 10 or more statesIndependent contractor compensation for this role is $110.00/hour Monday through Friday and $130.00/hour Saturday and Sunday. A semiannual bonus is available based on required minimum hours worked as well as other metrics. Claims made with tail malpractice coverage is provided by Fabric. As an independent contractor engagement, this role does not include employee benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), or paid time off. The cost of additional state medical licenses obtained under a signed addendum is covered by Fabric.
