About The Role

You’ll support the planning and design process across active land-development projects, applying strong technical insight, coordination skills, and early leadership to move site plans from concept to approval. About the RoleBohler’s West Hartford, CT office is seeking an Assistant Project Manager, Landscape Architecture & Planning, to contribute to project coordination, design development, and client communication across the Greater Hartford Metro area. This role blends technical landscape architecture, planning fundamentals, and project management, giving you increasing ownership in early scoping, design, permitting, and client collaboration. What You’ll DoApply broad planning and landscape architecture principles across conceptual design through construction documentsProvide guidance during master planning and site-specific design with a focus on accuracy and clarityCoordinate preparation of drawings, exhibits, and calculations with architects, engineers, designers, and techniciansCollaborate with internal teams and external clients throughout the design and review processParticipate in proposal and contract review; support business development activitiesPrepare and manage project correspondence with clients, agencies, attorneys, and contractorsDeliver construction cost estimates and support entitlement applicationsLead project coordination tasks, including preparing submittals, tracking comments, and advancing approval packagesMentor staff in developing design, production, and communication skillsAttend networking functions and build visibility for the practiceManage project elements, including scoping, scheduling, permitting coordination, and closeoutMaintain alignment with all Bohler standards, policies, and QA/QC expectations What We OfferEarly project leadership experience with direct client and agency interactionA role that blends technical design, planning, and project-delivery responsibilitiesOpportunities to strengthen project management fundamentals, including scoping and schedulingExposure to proposals, business development, and cross-office collaborationMentorship from project managers and discipline leaders who help strengthen your judgment and coordination skillsTraining and tools that enhance your project management capabilities, technical understanding, and communication effectiveness What You’ll BringBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or Planning7+ years of experience in private land-development landscape architecture; (Registered Landscape Architect) RLA preferredProficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D), Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and SketchUpStrong written, verbal, and graphic communication skillsAbility to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and lead portions of project deliveryHigh energy, flexibility, and readiness to operate at a dynamic paceAbility to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities Elevate your landscape design career with expanded responsibility, greater technical ownership, and increased influence on project outcomes.
