Seafood Attendant (Sushi Section)

Summary

Seafood Attendants should have a strong understanding of seafood products, market trends, and customer preferences. The seafood attendant will be responsible for packaging, pricing and displaying seafood products in a visually appealing and attractive manner to drive sales.

Job Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to

• Setting up and maintaining attractive displays of seafood products on sales floor to include poke station, chill display, and frozen flat case.
• Educating customers about different types of seafood and their preparation methods.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Providing exceptional customer service and assisting with any inquires or special orders.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Other duties as assigned or instructed by management.

Education and/or Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent preferred; previous experience in seafood merchandising or related preferred; or any equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience which provided the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities thereof.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and effectively respond to the data. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, employees, or others involved or associated in the warehouse section function.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts relevant to the role such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. General knowledge of basic accounting a plus.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

A valid health certificate or ability to obtain a certification is required for this position.

Other Skills and Abilities

• Ability to interpret and comply with variety of instructions.
• Knowledge and ability to maintain Health code standards.

Working Conditions

Work is conducted in a kitchen environment which may include, but is not limited to, varying temperatures, noise, and exposure to water and seafood odors. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and is mandatory in designated areas and job tasks. Adherence to safety guidelines and protocols is mandatory. Employees are expected to report any unsafe conditions or incidents promptly.
