Patient Access Representative (FT) - Seacoast

About The Role
- Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and
- co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
- Requires a high level of public contact and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Interviews patients or responsible party to obtain personal, demographic, insurance, and medical information
- prior to services. Confirms and manages patient identity. Understands compliance requirements and assists
- with completion of required forms.
- Correctly assigns insurance coverages based on eligibility responses. Explains plan benefits, authorization
- status, and medical necessity.
- Creates a transparent financial experience including generation of an estimate preservice, explains patient
- liability, and collects prepayments and on outstanding balances. Offers information on payment plans and
- Compassionate Care when appropriate.
- Correctly transcribes and validates orders, as well as schedules walk-in appointments.
- Advocates for patient engagement, including activation of MyChart.
- Monitors environment and attends to patients, families and visitor's needs in an effort to create a positive,
- expeditious registration experience.
- Assists with wayfinding and connecting patient to care.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Training
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Comfortable with computer use, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Medical terminology/prior experience with healthcare
- High school diploma/GED preferred from an accredited school
