About The Role

YOUR MISSION
Software Engineer (f/m/d) to support the design and development of experimental payload hardware and innovative technology to be flown in space to the International Space Station (ISS) aboard a number of orbital launchers.
YOUR TASKS
- Development/production of embedded software for a 3d bioprinter to be flown by ScienceTaxi to the ISS and orbital rockets.
- Development of test and support software.
- Performing software testing/verification of the functionality at system level.
- Development of software for a number of other experimental payloads.
- Support of management and engineering team with future proposals.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Degree in one of the following: Software Engineering, Computer and Electronic Systems Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering or similar.
- At least 2+ years of experience.
- Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming (Python, C++) for hardware applications.
- Familiarity with embedded systems design, low-level hardware interactions are advantageous.
- Skilled in testing and validating complex software systems.
- Experience in designing software architecture.
- Ability to design graphical user interfaces would be appreciated.
- Be a team player with good communication skills, supportive, well-organized and have an independent way of working.
- Basic electronics knowledge is essential.
- Knowledge about communication protocols.
- Experience in programming microcontrollers.
- Knowledge of G-code and 3D printing protocols would be appreciated.
- Fluently speak and write in English and ideally good in German.
Nice to have
- Experience with camera sensors (MIPI / SPI / USB interface).
- Experience with CAN and CANopen.
- Experience with RTOS.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Experience developing Raspberry Pi / Microcontroller applications.
