About The Role

Evaluate requests to license and regulate the Low Level Radioactive Waste facility in the State of Utah to protect human health, safety, and the environment in accordance with the applicable laws, including consideration of emerging regulatory and industry needs. Review technical documentation containing data regarding radiation protection. Exercising radiation safety practices/standards, familiarity with radiological equipment and surveys, knowledge of 10 CFR 20 and/or Utah Rule 313-15. Conduct occasional field inspections that involve OSHA HAZWOPER related safety measures. Actively solve problems in a professional, responsive, fair manner supported by science and the law. Effectively communicate and professionally engage with a variety of stakeholders, including but not limited to colleagues in the Low Level Radioactive Waste program, division leadership, State and Federal Government and the public. Continually adapt to the changing federal and state regulatory landscape.
