APS Intake Worker

Day-to-day responsibilities of this position: Answer calls that come into the APS phone system Gather information and enter it into the APS database Process reports received through electronic means as well as by phone. Read and assess information gathered to make sound decisions regarding abuse, neglect, and exploitation Use critical thinking to apply statute and rule to the reports received by APS and make decisions regarding the reports Apply trauma informed care principles while taking information from callers by phone Professionally be able to gather information regarding situations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation from callers while showing sensitivity and tact Use common computer programs and be proficient in spelling, grammar and typing Educate others on the role of APS Provide appropriate referrals to other agencies to callers in need
