About The Role

The Workforce Surge Trainer plays a critical role in building and sustaining the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) emergency response readiness. This position combines strategic workforce management with end-to-end instructional design—leading the recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of volunteer response personnel while developing and delivering targeted training programs, operational protocols, and high-level communications. Develop, review, and refine plans and protocols. Manage the recruitment, onboarding, retention, and engagement of the DHHS emergency response team. Conducts training needs assessments and recommends training programs. Develops and implements training, teaching aids and devices to meet training needs. Delivers presentations, training, or instruction to staff. Write or draft correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials. Supplemental Information This position is currently a hybrid of two (2) in-office and three (3) remote work days. Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion, at any time, and for any reason. Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
