About The Role
Position Summary The Part time Clinical Instructor/Clinical Pharmacist provides a high level of comprehensive pharmaceutical services as defined in the Departmental Mission Statement and the Standards of Practice. This position organizes, supervises, directs, and verifies the duties and functions performed by supportive personnel to ensure the provision of accurate, efficient, and appropriate drug distribution services to the patient. This position also provides direct patient care activities to ensure safe and effective drug therapy through the provision of clinical services. Further, the person in this position identifies potential problems relating to activities and communicates those situations and/or solutions to the appropriate managerial personnel. Finally, this position educates and/or advises pharmacy students and pharmacy residents/fellows as well as other health care students and residents. Duties Responsibilities Processing of orders- prioritize and verify all new medication orders ensuring accuracy and appropriateness. Check accuracy of all medications prior to dispensing. Personnel supervision- directly supervises pharmacy technicians, students, and residents. Quality Assurance- participates in Medication Use Evaluations. Drug Information - provides complete and accurate drug information. Cost containment - drug therapy provided is cost-effective. Direct patient care- anticoagulation monitoring, participation in code team. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
