Job Summary: The Materials Science Characterization analyst will be responsible for conducting experiments and analyzing properties and performance of materials (Alloys, Catalysts, Coatings) used in various applications. This role plays a critical part in research and development activities to ensure the quality andsuitabilityofmaterialsforspecificpurposes.Theidealcandidateshouldhaveastrongbackgroundin materials science, analytical techniques and a high level of attention to detail. Key Responsibilities: 1. MaterialsCharacterization: Conductcomprehensivematerialscharacterizationstudiesusing various techniques, such as X-ray diffraction, microscopy, scanning electron microscope, Electron dispersive spectroscopy and mechanical testing, to evaluate properties like composition, structure, and mechanical behavior. 2. InstrumentationMaintenance: Maintainandcalibratelaboratoryequipmenttoensureaccurate and consistent results. Troubleshoot and address any equipment issues as they arise.Coordinate with the vendors for AMC and troubleshooting. 3. DataAnalysis: Analyzeandinterpretcharacterizationdatatodrawmeaningfulconclusions, make recommendations, and assist in materials selection and development decisions. 4. ExperimentalDesign: Planandexecuteexperimentstoinvestigatethebehaviorofmaterials under different conditions and environments, ensuring the validity and reliability of results. 5. Report Writing: Prepare detailed reports and documentation of experimental procedures, results,andconclusionsforinternalandexternalstakeholders.Communicatefindingsclearly and concisely. 6. Collaboration: Workcloselywithcross-functionalteams, includingscientists,engineers,and productdevelopers,tosupportmaterials-relatedprojectsandprovideexpertiseinmaterials characterization. 7. QualityAssurance: Ensurethatmaterialsmeetrequiredqualitystandardsandspecificationsby conducting routine quality control tests and inspections. 8. SafetyandCompliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines in the laboratory to maintain a safe work environment. Stay up-to-date with relevant regulations and best practices. Must have skills: · Minimum1yearexperienceworkingtheinstrumentslisted,preferablyinindustrial settings. · Hand-onknowledge ofanalyticalinstruments:XRD,SEM-EDS,and TGA. · Expertiseinpreparingsamples foranalysistoensureaccurateandreproducible results. · Goodunderstandingofmaterialsynthesismethods–vacuumsintering,inductionmelting,wet chemistry techniques and coating techniques. · Provenexperiencewithvariousmaterialscharacterizationtechniquesand instrumentation. · Stronganalyticalandproblem-solving skills. · Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunication skills. · Abilitytoworkeffectivelyinateamandcollaboratewithcross-functional groups. · Detail-orientedwithacommitmentto accuracy. · Knowledgeofsafetyprotocolsandlaboratorybest practices. · Familiaritywithindustrystandardsand regulations. Qualifications: · Master's or PhD in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemistry or a related field. Bachelor'sdegreemaybeconsideredforcandidateshaving 3 +yearsofindustrialexperience in materials characterization using the instruments listed.
