Job Description: Project Planning Engineer Job Details Particulars Details Position & Designation Project Planning Engineer Grade P2 Division & Department Green Hydrogen – Project Management Reporting To Project Manager Job Profile A. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and monitor integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 / MS Project from project kick-off through project closure. Prepare Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 project schedules covering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, site activities, and commissioning milestones. Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, QA/QC, Logistics, and Site teams to collect progress updates and validate schedule status. Monitor critical path activities and identify schedule risks, bottlenecks, and recovery opportunities. Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports, dashboards, and S-Curves for management and customers. Track engineering deliverables, procurement status, manufacturing progress, and site readiness against approved baseline schedules. Perform schedule impact analysis for scope changes, delays, customer hold points, and vendor slippages. Support the Project Manager in project forecasting, milestone tracking, and resource planning. Participate in customer review meetings and present schedule performance and recovery plans. Maintain project baseline schedules, revisions, and change management records. Ensure compliance with project planning procedures, reporting standards, and document control requirements. Capture and document project lessons learned related to planning, scheduling, and project controls. B. Major Deliverables Approved project baseline schedule covering the complete project lifecycle. Timely monitoring and reporting of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and delivery progress. Accurate project dashboards, milestone reports, and S-Curves. Early identification of schedule risks along with mitigation and recovery plans. Effective monitoring of critical path activities and project float. Monthly project progress reports for management and customers. Schedule impact analysis for changes, delays, and contractual events. Reliable project forecasting to support management decision-making. Timely issuance of recovery schedules wherever required. Proper maintenance of project planning records and schedule revisions. 3. Critical Competencies & Essential Attributes Critical Competencies Strong knowledge of project planning and scheduling principles. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project . Good understanding of EPC project execution , including Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Construction. Ability to analyse project schedules and identify critical path activities. Knowledge of S-Curves and project performance measurement . Excellent analytical, coordination, and reporting skills. Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities. Good understanding of project risk management and schedule recovery techniques. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and project reporting tools . Essential Attributes Highly organised and detail-oriented. Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Self-driven with high ownership and accountability. Ability to work effectively under tight project deadlines. Strong team player with effective cross-functional coordination skills. Customer-focused with strong planning discipline. 4. Experience Total Desirable Experience 9–10 years of experience in Project Planning & Controls for EPC projects in Process Plants, Power, Oil & Gas, Renewable Energy, or Green Hydrogen projects. Minimum Relevant Experience Minimum 7 years of experience in Project Planning & Scheduling. 5. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Instrumentation, or Industrial Engineering . Certification in Primavera P6 / Project Planning will be an added advantage. 6. Desired Type of Experience Experience in planning and controlling large EPC projects from engineering through commissioning. Hands-on experience in Primavera scheduling, progress monitoring, and project controls. Experience in preparation of WBS, baseline schedules, S-Curves, critical path analysis, and recovery planning . Exposure to Green Hydrogen Plants, Electrolyser Packages, Renewable Energy, Power Plants, Process Plants, or Oil & Gas projects will be preferred. Experience in coordinating with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Site Execution teams. Knowledge of contractual milestones, schedule risk analysis, and project reporting to customers and management. Familiarity with EPC execution methodologies and multidisciplinary project interfaces.
