Occupational Therapist

JOB LOCATION -

Wilkes-Barre General Hospital - Days

Position Purpose

Provide patient care, consultative and educational occupational therapy services. Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care team to improve patient outcomes. Evaluate, administer, and document occupational therapy services provided as prescribed by the referring practitioner; establish occupational therapy plan of care and goals; re-assess patient’s progress at appropriate time frames; complete documentation supporting the need for occupational therapy services.

Position Qualifications

Education

Graduate from an occupational therapy education program approved by the State Board of Occupational Therapy Education.

Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes

Preference for dealing directly with the therapeutic needs of handicapped individuals and for physical activity. Teach/instruct; clerical accuracy; accuracy of prescriptions and procedures; manual and finger dexterity and motor coordination; interpersonal skills. Treatment and discharge planning; safety conscious.

Licenses/Certificates

• Licensed occupational therapist in the State of Pennsylvania.
• BLS Required and must be completed prior to end of orientation period
